Maple syrup taffy is an easy, delicious treat made simply by pouring hot maple syrup on snow! We have plenty of snow outside; why not enjoy some of it?!

Maple Syrup Taffy

What You Need for Maple Syrup on Snow Treat

1 cup pure maple syrup (New Hampshire maple syrup is the best, of course)

Craft popsicle sticks

Portable hot liquid container

Optional: 1-2 TB butter

Maple Syrup on Snow Directions

1. Prepare an area of fresh, clean, packed snow. (Kids can help with this part!)
2. Stirring, slowly bring the maple syrup (and optional butter for a more caramel flavor) to a boil. (This is a job for a grown-up)
3. When the syrup has bubbled to nearly double-size, remove from heat and use extreme caution when moving boiling liquid to the prepared snow area and pour in dollops or strips onto snow.(This is a job for a grown-up).
4. Use craft sticks to roll cooling syrup into tasty pop-treats!
