This is an interactive workshop. Please bring along your camera because the workshop will include hands-on time with it during the day.
By the end of the workshop, you should understand the basic settings of the camera including Aperture, shutter speed and camera sensitivity and how to use them to create a properly exposed image. We will discuss how changing these settings can be used as a creative tool. For example, how to blur a background or make sure all of your landscape pictures are in focus.
In addition, we will discuss lenses from wide angle to telephoto and how they affect the picture. This is especially important for taking family portrait pictures and landscapes.
Lastly, we will look at the qualities of light and how these can make or break your photo from a composition standpoint.
The workshop will consist of short presentations with breaks to practice and discuss what has been presented. We will use the surroundings of the Wild Salamander Gallery and immediate Hollis area as our field locations.
